Trump Budget Disregards Local Needs

In the wake of Donald Trump’s explosive lie accusing Barack Obama of “wiretapping” him, he managed to squeeze out his slim budget, 53 pages that will surely steam locals who voted for this POTUS. There’s literally nothing in there for Davenport, or any municipality for that matter.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program on which Davenport’s relied for years will be wiped out and “future investments in new transit projects would be funded by the localities that use and benefit from these localized projects,” Trump’s budget outline states. In other words, if Davenport wants infrastructure improvements, such as replacing its 100-year-old, rusted water lines, Trump says okay, do it, but do it on your dime.
