Jamestown residents made quite the presence at the commissioners’ 3/13 meeting and stood up in asking for upwards of $25,000 of city reserve funds to build their public restroom at Jamestown Park. This would’ve been for a one-room bathroom. They didn’t get that, however.
Instead commissioners unanimously agreed to build a two-room bathroom facility, meaning the city would be spending upwards of $50,000 or double (yes, I said “double”) the amount requested. Tom Fellows in a stunning display of lucidity sided with residents and spoke up the importance of Davenport getting this project done.
Groundbreaking is expected in August 2017.
