FL Bloggers Beware

With the MAGA-heavy Florida legislative session gearing up to attack free speech this year under a bill that would require bloggers to register with the state, I must say that I’m more than a little worried about the future of free speech in Florida. As a liberal writer, I’m defiantly worried.

According The Daily Beast, “Florida State Sen. Jason Brodeur (R) filed legislation this week that would effectively force any blogger that writes about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, or any member of the Florida Cabinet or Legislature, to file registration paperwork with the state—or face fines.” Well not exactly.

The new rule wouldn’t apply to free blogs like mine, at least not yet. I’m not counting it to stay that way, though, as governor Ron DeSantis continues to bear down on progressives in the state, wherever we may lurk.

  1. Little Hitler and his SS are at again. When will the people of Florida wake up, perhaps they like being led around by their nose.

    1. Can’t say why Floridians so enjoy being led by their noses. To be sure, it’s something psychological. I can say, however, that Little Hitler is wrong when he says woke comes to Florida to die. I’m woke and I’m not dead! Then again, that may be his next step. Yikes!
