9/11 Images You May Not Have Seen

Karl Haupt

While the photography of Karl Haupt on the aftermath of the 9/11/01 World Trade Center attack has been on the Internet for decades, many in the USA may not have not seen them since he’s simply not been shown interest by American publishers and publicists. He is, however, known in Europe and Canada. (What else is new?) His 250 photographs on the days after 9/11 are worth a look and a reflection of what happened that day.

After a period of years exhibiting George D. Gordon III’s 9/11 collection at the local Davenport Museum, one was damaged, apparently on purpose. They didn’t have cameras, so we opted not to display our collection there anymore. We’re showing some of it, however, here. In our Architecture & Design and in our War galleries, we have four images taken before 9/11. Click on the image at left to see that photo at the Fine Art America website. Click the image below to see that collection. For comments from the artist, go to George’s blog post on 9/11.
