Taps & Corks: Tasty & Classy

If you step into Davenport’s newest restaurant, I think you’ll agree that they should have named themselves Tasty & Classy instead of Taps & Corks. Although they’ve been called a “sports” bar by locals and while one could probably go there to catch a game, there really is little sports-barry about this place, save maybe three TV sets, which where not set to any games when I visited them, two times so far. Instead, Taps & Corks is a very classy restaurant with real food and salads, unlike the fried vittles that is the best available on the menu of bona fide sports bars.

There is the entrance with high-tables set comfortable distances apart. (No squishing peeps here!) Then, there are the two full-size pool tables and a game machine set in a room away from the eating area. Then, there is the bar, with among the more beautiful full-liquor setups in the area. Then, there is the back room, with standard table setups. And then, there is the full and wonderful menu that includes everything from hummus to burgers, from to pasta to fillet mignon.

Taps & Corks opened on July 11, 2025, to a welcoming crowd of local leaders. Never in the history of the City has a restaurant this nice graced our streets. So nice that the Davenport chapter of the group named the Central Florida Freethought Community will be meeting there this coming Thursday, July 31. Come join us!
