Millage Rate to Increase in Davenport, Florida, by Almost 2%

This Thursday, September 4, at 7 PM, Davenport city commissioners are presenting the public with their first chance to talk about the new budget. They plan to set a millage rate increase of 1.79% to cover expenses for our General Fund.

IMHO, that’s a pretty hefty increase for such a small city! With the economy in such turmoil these days, I would recommend against such an increase. They need to find a lower number.
