Foody Lovers: Our New Asian Fusion Restaurant

Up until recently, Davenport didn’t have a decent, sit-down, oriental-food restaurant anywhere. That’s changed with our newest addition: Global Foody Lovers, a memorable name.

They call their lunch and dinner cuisine Asian fusion. It includes their hibachi meals and Boba (bubble) drinks, which I’m sure I’ll be getting on my next trip there. What I got was filled with bits of pork, shrimp and veggies. It was the House Special Fried Rice and it was superior.

For an appetizer, I ordered the egg rolls and, boy, I was surprised. Huge these things are! You can also count on there being totally fresh veggies inside your egg roll. The last time I had an egg roll this good was in Washington, DC. Just tremendous.

While they have a little menu so far (they’re new), they’re asking customers to call ahead and tell them what you’d like to eat. (Their number is on the menu.) If they have the ingredients, they’ll make it for you. A custom-made meal! Now, that’s pretty impressive customer service.

You can also count on getting your money’s worth from them. For the frugal-minded, Foody Lovers provides lots of food at market prices. You won’t go hungry. They also provide free, specially filtered water for free. Bring your own water bottle and they’ll fill it for you, or you can choose from their specialty drinks and sodas.

For the eco-minded, they offer take-out in biodegradable containers. It’s the first restaurant I’ve been to in Davenport that does that.
